Printed product catalogs have long been a marketing and sales staple for McCue. When done well, catalogs provide information that customers need and appreciate, marketers are proud of, and salespeople rely on. They are also useful at events, trade shows, and in-store displays, and can help a business stay top-of-mind among its customers.

Unfortunately, the cost involved in designing, printing, and mailing catalogs can be substantial, especially when there is a wide range of products to be promoted. Printed catalogs lack flexibility compared to digital resources, and the production cycle is typically quite long.

The McCue team knew that a product catalog was a must-have, but they wanted to move away from the printed format. The ideal solution would be easy to customize for specific customer applications and deliverable digitally or as a professionally formatted print document.

McCue came to PIC looking for a creatively designed flip catalog—a digital version of a traditional printed catalog— for their sales team to use in meetings and share with their customers.

After gaining a thorough understanding of McCue’s audience and sales process, PIC’s Design & Development team proposed a HubSpot-hosted solution that “brought [McCue’s] concept to life,” per Julia Donigian, McCue’s Global Brand Designer & Marketing Manager. The foundation of that solution is HubSpot’s HubDB. 

Customizable & Interactive Sales Catalog in HubSpot: 

Since McCue’s marketing team already used HubSpot’s CMS, using HubSpot’s relational database, HubDB, as the central repository for product images and descriptions, McCue team member photos and bios, and other marketing and sales content made perfect sense. 

The customizable digital product catalog that PIC developed is a valuable sales enablement tool that ensures data accuracy and consistent messaging, streamlines product management, and reinforces marketing and sales alignment.

Utilizing the functionality and flexibility of HubDB, the eCatalog makes it easy for McCue’s marketing and sales teams to produce a customer-specific product catalog with just a few clicks. The catalog can then be shared via a link, as a PDF attachment, or printed. And since the company’s product descriptions are maintained in one HubDB location, revisions are made once and automatically reflected across all digital assets, not just the catalog.
